bleeding heart

This is also known as glorybower.
botanic name: clerodendrum thomsonae
Wonder how this name, bleeding heart, came about.

Those are so beautiful Lea. The only other bleeding hearts I remember were in our back yard when I was a kid. They were deep pink and actually shaped like a heart.....also very beautiful.

joy: is there a picture to your description? I'd like to know how the common names came about too.
