music to ears

Two Sundays ago, I decided to go photo-taking after church service.
I had a most interesting experience.
Naturally passers-by shunned me when I was sitting on the sidesteps...
trying to study these little flowers littered the pavement
along the main road.
*******
To my surprise I heard...thug...thug...thug...thug...
here, there and everywhere
after a strong gush of wind!

The sound came from these flowers landing on the concrete.
You wouldn't think a tiny flower could cause such
but this was music to my ears...

The flowers came from this huge tree...too tall to capture the flowers.

Lovely! Do you know what type of tree it is? The flowers are beautiful. Imagine, rained upon by flowers, aren't you blessed.

I know I left a comment on being rained upon by flowers. Hope it isn't flowering in outer space! Love the photo and your story. I felt as though I sat on that curb with you. Totally amazed at the fallen beauty :)

Pauline: Thank you so much for your lovely thoughtful words. Thank you for sitting next to me. I actually heard a passer-by thoughtlessly remarked to her man: what a wierd woman!

I like taking photos alone as I do behave rather oddly some times! Photo-shooting has given me a new perspective viewing life and living out my life.

Unfortunately I was not able to find the name of the tree or the flower!

Those flowers are beautiful Lea. I've never seen them before. They look so sweet and delicate. I'm glad they didn't literally fall on your head. As for that comment by a passerby.....What's so weird about taking pictures...alone? People do it all the time. Thanks for those beautiful pics Lea.

Joy: living in different cultures...different social behavior? Thank you for your kind words.

Wow, the little flowers are fantastic... and how interesting to find them like that. Your close-ups of them are really great - so small, and yet so sculptured...they reminded me of miniature broken open eggs, with those shell-like petals... it's so good to see such different flora to our own!

Thanks for visiting today, Twilight - as always it was a pleasure! :-)

annelisa: I was pleasantly surprise how the close-ups turned out with the flash.

I use an ordinary camera (canon powershot A700) which fits in my sling handbag.

So I'm convinced I do not have to use a sophisticated camera to capture pictures. Of course there's a limit to what I can and cannot take.

Good of you to drop by and thanks for your charming comments.

What lovely flowers. It's always a good thing to stop and smell the flowers, isn't it?

Annelisa will laugh if she reads this but they remind me of flowers made of icing on birthday cakes!! (Spoken like a true diabetic craving sweets!)

They are sweet little flowers...I wonder what kind of tree that is. I've never seen flowers like these.

Bob: Nice of you to drop by. Yep...certainly.

MOI: haha...when I was studying these, I thought of the miniature chinese lanterns on the lotus (in this part of the world).

Now that you mention...yea.

Naomi: This was my first time. I tried looking for the name but to no avail.

Unfortunately I was not able to actually see or smell these on the tree as it was way too high for my eyes. Caught a glimpse but these on the ground certainly warrant my celebration. Glad I was silly to discover these.
